A Second Visit to the Sedona Vortex

Taking a hike into one of the Votex locations in Sedona Arizona is an amazing experience. The Vortex locations are a unique blend of earth energies, and visiting them can have a balancing effect on the energetic body. According to Sedona Vortex GuideBook, this is because the Vortex is part of the Earth’s subtle body - a place that balances the masculine electrical energies and the feminine magnetic energies of the earth - allowing the Earth to rebalance and recharge her energetic body.

The first time I visited, on our hike I felt a clarity about our oneness with nature and all creatures on earth. My own smallness felt beautiful - an awareness that I was a tiny piece of a beautiful interconnectedness. On that hike I was wearing a step-counter. I looked at it occasionally as we hiked. At the end of the hike when we stepped into the parking lot, I looked down and my step counter had reset at zero - it was wiped clear by the energy of the Vortex. I took it as a reminder to bring less along with me on my journeys - less need to know, keep track, and measure.

Last weekend I went with 3 of my sisters back to Sedona. I feel such a strong pull to go back there and I hope to have the chance to live there one day! We hiked together into the airport vortex. I brought two special crystals with me, and sat with them, charging and clearing them in the amazing energy.

Meditating in the Vortex I felt the way I imagine an electronic device would feel when reset to factory settings. All things I was holding and repeating suddenly shifted and realigned to what felt like a more natural ‘at ease’ state. Setting intention for each crystal happened with opening and ease. And connecting with Reiki energy felt almost pervasive, like I didn’t need to call upon it, I was aware of its beautiful healing energy as a native part of being in the Universe.
