New Year's - new 'resolutions?

My New Year’s Commitments

I’ve never been big on New Year’s Resolutions – they have always felt like a set-up to me.  Setting BIG expectations for changed behavior – ‘new year, new you’ just doesn’t resonate with me.  Instead I usually use my birthday in August to goal-set.  But this year I’m feeling a shift and New Year seems like a great time to get excited about some new commitments. I’m also remembering a piece of wisdom I heard from an Episcopalian minister when talking about ‘giving up’ things for Lent.  He said, “Rather than thinking about giving things up, think about making a commitment TO something.”  So I am bringing that spirit to my New Year’s Commitments.

This is a special time for me to make new commitments to practices in my life as I have just completed my program, receiving a Certification in Energy Healing, and becoming a Reiki Master.  New doors and practices are opening before me!

When I work with clients, I usually make a ‘checklist’ of practices for them to incorporate into their lives on a daily and weekly basis.  So I’m giving that gift to myself!  I’m sharing some of that here, and I hope you will share your New Year’s thoughts with me!

Emelie’s New Year’s Commitments – Practices to give energy to in 2022

1)    Connect with Reiki energy on a daily basis

2)    Each month, write a blog post (post or don’t post – just write!) – program Clear Quartz as a writing companion

3)    Continue monthly moon meditations

4)    Spend time with Bronzite and make observations.  When complete, choose a new crystal to get to know.  (Bronzite is new to me and was recommended by another crystal healing during an intuitive reading!)

5)    Continue practice of mindful decluttering.

6)    Consider when is the right time to start another educational program.

7)    In January, get clarity on the way forward for the weekly meditation group (Have I shared with you all that I lead a weekly meditation group at my Quaker Meeting?  We have been meeting for a few years and I think we are ready for a shift!)

I would LOVE to hear your own list – we can inspire one another!  With lots of love and Light for the dawn of a New Year!
